Rippled ash TV cabinet

This rippled ash TV cabinet was created to make the most of a pair of exceptionally figured, flat-sawn boards of English ash. The top and sides are designed to use the full width of the finest board, celebrating both the cathedral grain and darker heartwood of olive ash, alongside the striking ripple figure that runs the length of the outer edges. The side panels also reveal beautiful spalting toward the base of the cabinet.

To give the piece a sense of movement, the top and sides are heavily shaped, introducing a dynamic curve and flow that is echoed in the asymmetrical sweep of the lower door edges. The handles appear to grow naturally from the doors, reinforcing the cabinet’s organic, naturalistic character.

The cabinet is finished in Danish oil and wax for a warm, tactile surface.
